Christine Parri

Australian powerhouse vocalist Christine Parri relocated to Nashville in 2009. She honed her skills as a teenager in Perth, Western Australia, performing with national touring bands and as a solo artist before moving on to study under world-renowned vocal instructors in Los Angeles. Since then, she has performed with and opened up for many legendary artists around the world such as Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, and Dee Dee Bridgewater. She further developed her musical identity, performing across the U.S. in blues and jazz meccas.
Her songwriting style is rooted in blues music, but there's no mistaking her pop sensibility and love for jazz, R&B and soul music. All of which informed her unique blend of influences. Her original song “Stomp Clap” was featured in the CW Network’s primetime program "No Tomorrow", and the Fox Network's "Dirty Little Secrets".

Stephanie Adlington, otherwise known as, "The Siren Of The South", is an Award Winning singer, songwriter, and vocal coach. Born and raised in Grafton, WV, Miss Stephanie is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London, England, and also attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and (pre-college) Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. While in London, Stephanie recorded with the folk-rock band Renaissance, which produced three critically acclaimed international albums.

Pianist Pat Coil has toured Japan, South America, Europe and the U.S. with such artists as Michael McDonald, Carmen McCrae, Olivia Newton John, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Woody Herman and many others. Pat has recorded with many artists including Natalie Cole, Trisha Yearwood, Ernie Watts, Carmen McCrae, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Kenny Rogers, Travis Tritt, Peter Cetera, Woody Herman, Scott Henderson, and Michael McDonald.
During his L.A. years, Pat played on many movie and TV scores, including Star Trek - Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Murphy Brown, Dionne Warwick & Friends, Growing Pains, Major Dad, Spencer For Hire, The Grammy Awards and many more. He played for various artists on the Tonight Show, Arsenio Hall, & Conan O’Brien. Living now in Nashville TN, Pat continues his successful career composing, recording, performing, producing, arranging and teaching. He has composed, produced and performed on hundreds of underscores heard on a variety of media all over the world. Pat taught jazz piano, combos, and improvisation at Middle Tennessee State University, and was an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University Of North Texas.

For nearly 30 years, Joel Frahm has lived in New York City, working in jazz clubs, collaborating with other musicians, and honing his craft. His bold, inventive tenor sound has won fans in the U.S. and across the world. He has worked alongside Betty Carter, Kenny Barron, Freddy Cole, Dianne Schuur, Kurt Elling, Jane Monheit, Bill Charlap, Brad Mehldau, Matt Wilson, Cyrille Aimee, and many other top artists. He has played as a leader or sideman on more than 100 recordings and has appeared at jazz festivals in the United States, Europe, Israel, Canada and South America. In addition to his work as a performer, he has taught jazz classes in clinics at the University of North Carolina, the University of Connecticut, New York University, Wichita State University, the University of North Texas, Baylor University, Colorado State University, Furman University, the University of Toronto, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, the University of Manitoba and others. He also has worked at the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Next Generation program; the Sant Andreu Youth Jazz Orchestra in Barcelona, Spain; the Dave Brubeck Institute in Stockton, California; the Center for Jazz Studies at the Israel Conservatory in Tel Aviv; the Czech Jazz Workshop in Prague; and the Siena Jazz Workshop in Italy. Joel grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and moved to West Hartford, Connecticut as a high school freshman, where he became part of the acclaimed Hall High School jazz band. It was there he developed a passion for jazz, exploring the music of jazz greats such as Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver and Wayne Shorter. In 1992, he received a bachelor's degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
Marc Widenhofer is an in-demand jazz drummer and educator in Nashville, TN. As a versatile jazz drummer, Widenhofer has performed with Houston Person, Roger Pemberton, Ron Bridgewater, Janguen Bae, Bert Ligon, Chip Stephens, Larry Gray, Chip McNeil, The Ryan Middagh Jazz Orchestra and was a featured artist headlining the 2012 Taichung International Jazz Festival with the JB Trio and Greg Osby. Currently, Widenhofer maintains an active performing schedule in Nashville including leading his own group made of some of Nashville’s finest musicians. Tonights trio features the ever musical David Rodgers on piano and the swinging Rob Linton on bass.

Nashville-based jazz composer, bassist, and 2020 graduate of the New England Conservatory Chris Mondak has studied with jazz legends Cecil McBee, Dave Holland, and Bob Moses, and has performed with musicians such as Wycliffe Gordon, Dave Douglas, Shelly Berg, Marvin Stamm, Jeff Hamilton, and Jesus Molina.
With an aggressive bass style reminiscent of Mingus, Chris is a past member of the Jazz Band of America, he has toured extensively in the U.S., and has performed in Australia, Mexico, and Panama, as well as having toured twice throughout China as a member of the Nextgen Jazz Quartet. In 2019, Chris and Nextgen performed at the Hengqin Cup Jazz Competition in Zhuhai, China, where Chris's composition "Always Smiling" received 1st place as the festival's top original composition. In 2023, Chris's composition "Begetting" was a semi-finalist in Italy's 7 Virtual Jazz Club composition and video performance competition.
Chris's energetic hard-bop compositions and performances are on full display on his 2019 Eternal Youth, a CD that has amassed radio play on some 400+ stations, including spins on the Jazz Network, Jazz After Hours, and Jazz Happening Now. Says Blurtonline: "Opener 'Voyage Maid' wastes no time in showing us the goods Chris has in store for us. His virtuosity is a wonder to behold as are his compositional skills which soar to lofty heights throughout the album." Chris's 2022 release Glass Spheres spent multiple weeks on the Jazz Week top 100, and reached #17 on the NACC chart. All About Jazz referred to Glass Spheres as "an intriguing and absorbing selection of originals, and to Chris as "one of the talented young lions of the jazz world today." Chris's newest CD, Blank with Colour, is scheduled to be released by Summit Records in October of this year.

Doris Day remains one of the most cherished of Hollywood with songs you'll remember like "Day by Day", "Que Sera Sera", "Secret Love" and "Sentimental Journey", you’ll step back in time to the beginning of her career. In 1945 she recorded her first single "Sentimental Journey" which became an anthem for the soldiers in World War II. Now in 2022 we still celebrate and love her. 2022 Inducted member Nashville Academy of Local Musicians Hall of Fame and 2023 Mississippi Music Foundation Award winner for Best Female Jazz Artist, flute playing jazz vocalist Wendy Burns of Nashville TN has studied and performed songs from the 1940's Jazz Big Band era since the age of 9 years old. She has been described as having a unique voice that fits the era. She has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and has sessioned and performed with many of the Nashville classic country greats. With a deep passion for jazz standards, and as a hopeless romantic, Wendy believes there's beauty in staying true to the melodies as they were written.

Doris Day remains one of the most cherished of Hollywood with songs you'll remember like "Day by Day", "Que Sera Sera", "Secret Love" and "Sentimental Journey", you’ll step back in time to the beginning of her career. 2022 Inducted member Nashville Academy of Local Musicians Hall of Fame and 2023 Mississippi Music Foundation Award winner for Best Female Jazz Artist, flute playing jazz vocalist Wendy Burns of Nashville TN has studied and performed songs from the 1940's Jazz Big Band era since the age of 9 years old. She has been described as having a unique voice that fits the era. She has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and has sessioned and performed with many of the Nashville classic country greats. With a deep passion for jazz standards, and as a hopeless romantic, Wendy believes there's beauty in staying true to the melodies as they were written.

Since the age of fifteen, Andrew Carney has been playing trumpet and flugelhorn professionally. He has had the honor of touring with artists such as Brian Setzer (currently) and Yve Evans, and has performed with Pink, Aretha Franklin, Andrea Bocelli, The Jacksons, Johnny Mathis, Ariana Grande, Michael Bolton, Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Brenda Russell, Frankie Valle, Midnight Oil, Peter White, Paul Brown, the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and Randi Crawford.

Multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Rodriguez, one of Nashville's leading percussionists, bassists and favorite on the Salsa and jazz scene, plays the sounds of salsa, bachata and percussion-driven rhythms with some of the most seasoned veterans in the Nashville Latin music scene. Melvin Macias (piano/vocals), Jesus Agreda (Timbales), Lorenzo Molina Ruiz (Trumpet), Manuel 'Manotas' Ramierez (multi-Percussion), and Giovanni Rodriguez (bass/vocals).

Viktor Krauss

Eclectic composer bassist Viktor Krauss was born in Champaign, IL, in 1969. His youth was spent listening to soundtracks and instrumental music, eventually leading him to the piano and trumpet. After witnessing the power and ominous presence of the double bass at a middle school concert, he found his true calling. Krauss has been a presence in Nashville Tennessee since 1992 with nearly 500 album credits as either a bassist, composer/songwriter or producer. On tour, Viktor has been Lyle Lovett's primary bassist since 1994. Starting with 1996's "Nashville", Krauss began a long tenure with Jazz great Bill Frisell. Other albums with Frisell include "Gone, Just Like a Train", "Good Dog, Happy Man", "East/West" and "Disfarmer." Other artists over his career have included James Taylor, Tom Jones, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow, Carly Simon and Jerry Douglas. In 2022, Viktor joined Robert Plant and Alison Krauss as a multi-instrumentalist (electric guitar, piano) on the multi-continent “Raise the Roof” tour.
In 2004, Krauss recorded his solo debut of his original compositions, Far From Enough featuring an all-star band consisting of Frisell, Jerry Douglas, Steve Jordan, and sister Alison (peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard® Contemporary Jazz Chart). Krauss' second album, II , which featured core band guitarist Dean Parks and drummer Matt Chamberlain emerged three years later. Last year, new duo recording of original material with lever harpist extraordinaire Maeve Gilchrist "Vignette". Primarily instrumental music, Viktor cites that this music could be described as "a soundtrack without a movie with nods to 'jazz and classic rock'." Known as “The Teacha”, Regi Wooten is one of the most innovative, talented and dynamic musicians around the scene, and has pushed the boundaries of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock, and even bluegrass to some of the most extreme musical limits. From picking, slapping, strumming, thumping, and tapping to some of the most ear bending advanced chords you’ll hear on any instrument, Regi has earned world-wide notoriety and comparisons to other innovators such as Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and Chuck Berry. Perfecting, creating and discovering new techniques and jazz theory while incorporating and layering into strong funk grooves for keen listeners to uncover and pick up on is one of his many notable fortes.

Drummer extraordinaire Marcus Finnie assembles a unique group of very special artists for this show, comprised of elite session artists or musicians on tour in the Nashville vicinity. In 2016, Lin-Manuel Miranda asked him to produce three songs on the Hamilton Mixtape. His recent productions include Brothers Osborne, Lauren Daigle, Madison Cunningham, Turnstile, Joy Oladokun, and reuniting with Lin-Manuel Miranda to co-produce the music for Disney’s ENCANTO, which he received a Grammy for Best Compilation for Visual Media in 2023. He also received a Grammy for Madison Cunningham’s album “Revealer”, which won a Grammy for Best Folk Album.

McHugh toured and played as a session drummer with artists such as Aaron Neville, Peter Frampton, Jewel (singer), Alabama (band) Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes, Brooks & Dunn and numerous others. His recording credits span over 40 years with 93 platinum and 15 gold certifications. Chris McHugh is on the Nashville "A" list of session drummers with over 3200 credits, 24 billion streams and has played live on several genres with country and pop artists of the music industry. He has toured with Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith,and Garth Brooks. McHugh has toured as Music Director/drummer for Keith Urban and has been the session drummer for seven of Urban's studio albums.
Joseph Allen Wooten, a loving husband and father, keyboardist, writer, arranger, producer, educator, motivational speaker, and author, is a 3-time Grammy Award nominated artist, and since 1993 is the keyboardist/vocalist for The Steve Miller Band. Born to Dorothy and Elijah "Pete" Wooten, Joseph is the 2nd youngest of the 5 Wooten Brothers, all musicians: 5-time Grammy Award Winning bassist, Victor Wooten; 5-time Grammy Award Winner and drummer/inventor Roy "Futureman” Wooten; guitarist Elijah "Regi" Wooten aka "The Teacha," and the late saxophonist Rudy Wooten. Joseph’s early elementary school years were spent with his siblings playing nightclubs and sharing the stage with Curtis Mayfield, War, and other major artists of the time as “The Wooten Brothers." In the ’70s, there were more major artists to share the stage with: The Temptations, The SOS Band, Stephanie Mills, Dexter Wansel, Ramsey Lewis, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and others.
As the ’80s arrived, the brothers caught the ear of the popular R&B artist/producer Kashif where they recorded an album entitled "The Wootens" for Arista Records. Joseph’s unmatched talent and undeniable groove landed him the position of band leader, musical director, and keyboardist for Kashif. During that time with Arista Records, Joseph sang back ground vocals for Whitney Houston on her debut and Kenny G, and co-wrote with Kashif and brother Roy "Call Me Tonight" which was Grammy nominated for Instrumental of the Year. Joseph contributed numerous compositions on Victor’s Grammy nominated CD, "Yin Yang". During this time, when the family moved East, Joseph and his brothers had a residency at Busch Gardens, where Joseph honed his skills not only as a keyboardist, but, as an accordion player, arranger, and composer as he composed over 40 pieces of music for every individual cast member.
Joseph is now the keyboard player/vocalist for the legendary Steve Miller Band, playing large venues around the world. Whenever his extensive touring schedule allows, he also serves as keyboardist to his brother Victor Wooten, and fronts his own band, Joseph Wooten & The Hands of Soul. Joseph is also a member of an elite group of hand picked musicians called Freedom Sings, organized by the First Amendment Center in Washington D.C., presenting a multi-media experience celebrating The First Amendment and free expression. In addition to releasing several of his own albums and singles, Joseph continues to be very active composing, producing, and recording vocals and keyboards for other artists.
In 2017, he published his book, “It All Matters: What I Believe, Words That I Live By.” This collection of thoughts and concepts, originally recorded over the years in Joseph’s personal journal, is intended to make people think and give insight into who Joseph Wooten is as a person. When he is not traveling from city to city, Joseph can often be found speaking to students in middle school, high school, and college, about character development, self esteem, self respect, and personal growth using his own life experiences as examples. Recently Joseph played for career military Veterans and Gold Star families at the Field Of Dreams moviesite. He also had the privilege to do a TEDx Talk in Memphis, Tennessee called "Why It All Matters.”
